Hello Gurus,

Please clarify my basic questions.

1. what is the minimum and maximum lot size quantity in the product master good for and how does it link during the planning run?

2. Please some explain me the Quota Arrangement with an real time example and how does it link with during the plan run?

3. What is CVC good for? Is it necessary to create CVC for the planning run even though i have product and location in the product master.

Thanks for your reply.

Regards,

Raj.

Hello Somnath,

Can please let me know how the CVCs in APO will be helpful in Demand Planning. It may be a basic question but I'm new to APO so please explain me.

Thanks,

Raj.

Hi Raj,

Suggest you go through the following threads which discuss about DP.

From a Database concept (not a very appropriate one) CVCs are the key against which the transaction data (technically Timeseries keyfigures) for Demand Planning (like Statistical forecast, Sales History, Marketing Forecast etc.) is stored. The end-users use a combination of these CVCs to carry out planning in DP through Planning Book / Data View combination (user interface).

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hi Shibu,

Thx for the reply. But still got some clarifications. Please explain me.

1. Can you let me know how does it affect the planning output.

2. In which transaction do we need to set this Quota arrangement.

3. Why CVC is must for DP? Can the forecast be determined without CVC?

Assigned points.

Thanks,

Raj.

1. Assuming the lot size on a product is 5. That means we can only produce/procure in multiples of 5. A demand for 17 will result in planned(or purchase) order of 20 due to lot size.

2. Transaction for Quota arrangement is /SAPAPO/SCC_TQ1

3. CVC is must for DP. ie you can compare like a foundation of building. Forecasting process in DP depends on CVC. ie CVC determines at what level you are forecasting- (Material, Sales group, sales office etc..).

Hi Raj,

CVC is the master data in APO-Demand Planning module. It does not matter if you have location product master (transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1) in APO for Demand Planning. You necessarily need CVCs in APO for Demand Planning.

1. It depends on the business. It will impact the planning output.

2. Quota arrangement will determine how do you source from different factories. eg. If a product can be produced in location and A, and Location B, and you have a quota arrangement to split how customer's demand is supplied from these two locations. Eg. A fictions example : Intel processor are manufactured in China and Malaysia and your company is a PC manufacturing company, your demand for 1000 PC, you want to split 80% from China and 20% from Malaysia.

3. CVC is linked with DP. Technically it has no link to Planning run. But practically your SNP solution will recive the forecast from DP or R/3 or external systems. If you use DP, you will need CVCs
