SEM BCS - Trading Partner

Hi Experts,

I have a scenario to share with you all. 0company has the role consolidation unit in the Data Basis. Role partner unit is assigned to 0Pcompany.

I have to upload master data for 0Pcompany. I can have methods for consolidation unit upload. But there is no option for partner units. What are the possible options?

Please share your thoughts.

Hi,

If you want to upload Master Data of Partner Company, then specify the following in the Flexible Upload Method:

Data Type: Other Master Data

Characteristic: Partner Company

This should solve your issue.

Assign points if the above is useful.

Partner company and trading partner are two different infoobects.

In this scenario trading partner needs to be updated with consolidation unit 0company. That is 0pcompany and 0company required to be updated in BCS.

Hi,

Partner company (0PCOMPANY) is a reference characteristic to 0COMPANY. Therefore (you may search forums for features of such chars), you don't need to load and maintain any data for 0PCOMPANY. It is inherited from 0COMPANY.

That's right. In BW 0Pcompany has data because 0company is used as reference for 0pcompany.

In BCS - load from data stream showed an error because a specific trading partner is not defined.

In BW both 0company and 0pcompany updated with this data. The master data is not updated in BCS.

You may use UGMDSYNC program (through SE38) to synchronize data in BW and BCS. Use search in forums to get more details abt using this program.

We can sync BW masterdata with BCS masterdata. Can we sync/update BCS master data by using this program with reference to BW masterdata?

Using this program we may sync data in both ways, BW -> BCS or BCS -> BW. Try search in the forums. There are one or two threads where I explained it in details.
