Hello All,
We have a sandbox setup on Microsoft SQL 2005 with ECC 6.0. We would like to install another instance on the server so we can simulate a SLD with two. We are running into problems with the install. Is there a document on the correct way to do this?
Thanks for any input.
Hi Roger
Please provide some more information like what kind of installation u r trying to do?
R u doing a MCOD?
What about the SID which u r using?
What u can do is install another instance with a diffrnt SID on the same database but it is not recommended as it has performance issues also.
By making a separate installation on the same database u vl perform a Multiple Component on Single Database (MCOD) in this case database will maintain a separate schema for both the instances and you can configure 2 SLDs.

Forgot to add, this is happening while attempting to install a second instance.
Thanks again

We are using Netweaver 2004s SR1.
Select Central Installation - ECC - As Abap & As Java.
Select the Java Component. After that while verifying the location of the Java component I get the following error.
INFO 2007-06-29 12:08:20
Execute step collect of component |NW_Onehost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0|NW_GetSidNoProfiles|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0.

Also says it is collecting information about the SAP Service SNDService 00
Leads me to believe that there is a different menu path during the installation. Just not sure where/what.
Thanks
Roger

Yes, this is very possible. It is supported by default with SR2 installations. Please tell us what errors you are recieving or what questions you have?
