fiscal year period variable when two queries combined in one template

hi,

i am combining two different queries in one web template. both of these queries are using fiscal year period variable. from the wad settings, i selected to show these two variables as one variable in the selection screen. however when i run the template, filter selection for fiscal year period shows odd values. for ex it shows 16 periods in a year although we are restricting to k4 fiscal year variant in both queries. also it shows only up to 2005, it doesn't show the periods in 2006 or 2007. however when i key in any values in 2006 0r 2007, the results are coming ok. when i run the queries individually i have no problem with this variable. they are both showing the correct values. so what is the problem when i combine them in one template? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Shah,

By default it won't display all the values... you will be having Scrolling option after executing from WAD in Variable Screen. If you want o display from 2006 to 2007 ... you need to do some customizing for that.

i am scrolling down but the last value is 0162005. there is no value after that and i don't understand why it is showing 016 while we are using k4 as the fiscal year variant.

Did you get a chance to look into Link i sent you earlier?

Please check in SPRO settings. we can restrict to upto 2005 only.

Coming to 2nd one, Check your Master Data Tables has all the entries or not. It may have 0162005 also.

yes i looked into the link but i don't want to restrict the periods as they might be used by some other reports. i have this problem only in this web template containing two reports.

i checked the master data, it is interesting but i saw only few values. i couldn't get any values even for 2005 while i was seeing them in the selection screen.

Hello ,

Did you check the option in web template properties as display same variable only once , then try by creating the text elements in WAD and also try with the Filter item in WAD to see what value is displayed.

I guess there must not be any problem , if they are displaying correct query wise.

thanks. yes i set this property. i didn't understand what you mean by trying text elements and filter item. i already have text elements. my problem is with the filter selection in the variable screen. it is not showing what is in the cubes underlying these queries, it is showing something else.

1st - I would try separate templates .... each containing their own query and text elements so that you can analyze all query results and understand the data being presented from each query.

Also, verify to ensure that both queries are using the exact same variables with the same tech-names.

Then, in the combined web-template,

- the overall query property (which shows when you click outside of the web items contained in the web template) may need to be checked ..."Display same variable only once."

- A property of the "text elements" that is called "List of Text Elements" ... will let you specify which variable tech-names that you want to specify the web template to use. After clicking on the word "List", click on the 3 dots to bring up a dialog box for the "List of Text Elements". 1st column allows you to enter the variable type, the 2nd is for the variable's tech-names.

i need to show these two reports in the same screen. otherwise each query is running fine if run seperately. the problem comes out when they are combined in the same template.

i already checked the box "Display same variable only once." it is already showing only one variable in the selection screen but the problem is it is not showing the correct values. it showing odd values, and also some periods are missing.

when the report is run the variable values are correctly displayed. so i think text element item will not solve it. my problem is with the f4 values in the selection screen.
