SAP IDES on Windows Vista

Hi!

Can someone tell me if SAP IDES 4.71 will run on Windows Vista with Duo Core processor? Has anyway tried this windows version yet?

Hello Satnam,

according to our Product Availability Matrix (PAM):

IDES for Release 4.71 is only currently supported for MS Windows Server 2000 and MS Windows Server 2003.

Hi,

My pc has vista and I used SAP 4.7 and for some t-codes it will automatically shut the session. So now I have both xp and vista installed so I can switch to xp when I use SAP. Let me know if you need any more info.

Hi,

You need windows 2003 server to run the IDEs. It won't run on xp. in other words you need a server. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I think you may have a chance to get IDES installed on XP even Vista coz XP/Vista is basically has the same core code base as Win 2000 or 2003. And virtaully all the necesary OS support provided by Win 2000 or 2003 can also be provided by XP or Vista.

I once read a post saying that someone installed IDES on XP,but i cannot remember it is 4.6 or 4.7.

But as installation on XP or Vista is not offically supported in SAP document, be pre-warned that you may encounter more issues during your installation. (Vista may bring more security issues to the installation.)

One thing more, you firstly need to make sure that the DBMS (Oracle/ MS SQL, or whatever) functions well on XP or Vista.

Hi,

On Vista, when i run the setup file for IDES 4.7 it dosen't do anything.

I tried changing the compatibility modes in the file properties but got no results.

Can anyone help me out here.

sir,

it need greate help from your side please suggested that i was start ides server through sap_in_mmc console. But it show the error "*can not connect to sap service on ids:800706BA. the RPC server is unavaible.*

There is a version of Neatweaver for abap.

Compatible with Windows Vista?

If there is someone I could pass the link.

To download the version is 7.1 for Java, but I want only the version for ABAP.
