Hi guys,
Whats the diferrence between Machine & machine group, like wise labour & labour group?
In the Dev server "machine" ,"Labour" category iam getting all views Basic data,Default Values,Capacities,Scheduling,Costing,Technical Data etc
But for machine group, labour group iam getting only Basic data & Capacities
Whereas in IDES for all work categories all views are available
I tried to assign with "influencing" mode but its not working
What all need to defined for Labour & Labout group category?
Please some one explain me in detail
Vijay,
A good question by you.
The reason is the formulas for scheduling and capacity could be different.
If the labour is the bottleneck for the work center then you can use the labour time and setup time alone in the capacity - to check the capacity availability.
But for scheduling purpose you may choose to do it by Machine time.
Yes if the parameter is no where used you could create a new std vlue key.
Hope this is clear now.

Hi Prasad,
Machine represents single production line or work center in the shop floor to carry out the task assigned to this machine. Group of machines are set of machines which are carrying out the same task at shop floor. Normally this scenario not exists in production but possible in maintenence.
Group of labours category are common for example in maintenece there are always group of labours who finsihed the task like set up of the production line. Scenario exists in production and maintenence.
The work center category determines which data can be maintained in the master record for the work center hence from OP13 transaction you have choose the screen you wants to represents each of your category. There are eight screens available..you cannot add..just select whatever you want.
Hope this will helps you. Please rewards suitably if so.

Hi Mohammed,
Thanks for your info,I got it,i just have doubt regarding this,In IDES even though only 2 screens(Basic Data,Capacities) are defined in OP13 still all screens are available in CR01for the labout category
Any way i just want to ask one more thing
I dont think we need to maintain Machine time for labour group category
I saw some of the examples in IDES for labout category,In scheduling & capacity screens of work center -only set up & labour are used so in that case y the standard value key(SAP1) need to have machine time in addition to setup & labour time? we can define a separate standard value key with only set up & labour time & that can be assigned in the work centre right? What is the impact?
Hi Vijay,
Standard value key represents the various activities attached to a machine category. You can create max activities to a category with using SVK.
Now you have to see which is bottle neck activity among those and will be suitable for the scheduling and capacity planning (if requires). You can choose anyone which is best suitable like machine time or labour time, QA inspection time.
There is no way of mainatining seperate SVK because we dont have this option there is logic at all to maintain seperate SVK. We cannot assign one more than SVK to one work center, you have create dummy work centers and use in multiple opeartions (same numbers) in routings.
If any question then please inform.

machine/labour
work center is nothing but the machine/labour of single
so we wnat to assaign all the datas to that sigle work center
machine group/labour group
in that, work center is the group of the machine / labour which/who having the same capacity to do the work . so capacity ,sheduling costing is same for the whole group.
