Hi guys,
Back with some doubts on defining shift
I saw some standard config templates&( even in IDES) in which only one break is defined for a shift
In my case i have 3 breaks(Two tea breaks each of 10 mins & one lunch break of 30 Mins)in one single shift & it applies the same to second shift too
If i define the 3 breaks then how can i define those breaks in the shift definiftion ,bcos the shift is one but the breaks r three
Pleas explain me how to go about & also please explain me the importance of shift definition
If not defined what will be the impact on capacity planning?
What is the relation betwen this & the standard available capacity subscreen in the capacity header screen in work center
Awaiting for the quick reply
Hi,
You are defining the available capacity in the Capacity header.
ie start time / end time/ and break time.
No of individual capacities / capacity utilisation
rate
In OP4A first we need to define the grouping Key ex 55.
1 For this Grouping Key we need to define the work break schedule
ie with in a shift from when to when are the break times.
Tea Break 1 -> from 7.00 am-> 7.20 am
Lunch Break -> from 10.45am-> 11.15am
Tea Break 2 ---> from 1.20pm -
>1.30pm
2. For this Grouping key we define the shift defintion.
ie start time/ end time and validity.
3.Then we define the shift sequences ie how the shifts
follow one another on daily basis.
4.We need to define this grouping key in the workcenter
capacity tab page.
NOTE:
You are definig the available capacity in the Capacity header ie start time / end time/ and break time.
Where as via GROUPING KEY you are definig how many breaks are there in shift/shift definition/shift sequences.

hi
when use the transaction of opa4 we can move to the sceen
there you can define the shift breaktime what time you want
or assaign the control key , for the breaktime for that
you can give the times to break for more times

Hi Vijai,
When you define a break key, in second column it is field, related number of breaks,you define 1,2,3 etc, then assign to shift sequence.
It will solve problem, In IDES also one example is given.

Vijai,
In OP4A you could create work break schedule. You can define from which time to which time the break is available. The this break schedule is to be assigne to the shift definition. The sfhift definitions are assigned in the intervals and shifts in work center capacity overview.
Practically all these are not required. You just mention the break time in the work centre capacity directly. This should suffice. Unless a very accurate schedule is required. But in my experience it is not required.
