Material Type XO

Can somebody please let me know what the exact purpose of

Material Type XO setting on the material master is?

Is it just used to filter out other materials in R/3 and CIF only

XO materials to APO? Or is it also used in CIF'fing PPMS/PDS or

in any other functions? Will it be an issue in APO if we do

manage to CIF materials which are not XO using some userexit? for example M1/M2 or P1/P2?

It simply deactivates MRP planning in R/3. You can create any MRP Type you want and use it to select products to cif across to APO. So if APO is planning these products, you should turn off MRP for this MRP type ew but systems will plan same product and there will be a mess.
