update terminated

Hi all

Sometimes, when I'm creating a characterstic and saving it. The system showing one message "Update Terminated".

So can anybody clear me what does it mean and what's the solution to come out.

Check if the number range is maintained. Incase of Sales Order & Billing Document number range is maintained in T.Code: VN01 & FI number range in FBN1.
