SLD Data Supplier Bridge

Hello Experts,

I understand that the purpose of the bridge is to send data to the SLD server about the system landscape.

What I don’t understand is this-

I configure an SLD and define all the systems in the SLD. Now since I have done this in the SLD why should this data be transfer to the SLD?? isnt it already present in the SLD?

Can someone please explain.

thanks,

Vineeth

Hi Vineeth,

yes, if you configure the data in SLD, then your data is present and ok.

The SLD data supplier also sends information about the system to the SLD, so if there's an update in your system, you don't have to enter the data manually into SLD, as the system sends it all by itself.

Also, if you use JCo destinations (maintained in Content Administrator) for your webdynpro applications, you'll need the SLD connection, as your system uses it to find the target system.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Cornelia
