Hi friends,

How to Install SAP XI and SAP R/3 on Laptop...

I installed SAP XI on Windows XP .Its working .

Then I installed VMware .Then using VMware installed Windows XP then installed SAP XI .Its working .But how to link or how to make communication between SAP R/3 which is installed in Windows XP and SAP XI which is installed on Windows XP using VM Ware .

Its not related to establishing connection like importing IDOC.

Its abt how to use the IP address of SAP R/3 in SAP XI ,which is installed using VMWARE.

I hope you understood my question...

    Hi Raju

I believe u might have used lan for your r/3 and for the one with vmware a microsoft loopback adapter.....or vice versa or both loopback adapters...

make sure both differ by the ip address....

both r/3 and xi have a diffrent sap sid

    and different instance number...

to connect keep both systems up and running...

then go ahead with the process...

    Thanks

Please use a real subject next time, not "please help" 😊

you need to assign an IP address to your host system and an addresse of the same range on your guest system so that they can "see" each other.

    Hi,

Please tell me is your problem solved?

If not I want to give you a suggestion as per my understanding of the problem.

If your XI is installed using VMWARE..then I assume it is on a virtual m/c.

In that case you have to add the IP address of the XI virtual m/c in the host file of ur R/3 windows XP system.

Please excuse me if I got this wrong.

    Regards,

    Sumit
