Hi everybody, I was a java developer for 2 years and then I moved into SAP on some customized module (PLM-PDM) as a functional consultant for 2 years. But i realized that its not helping much in my career growth as it is fully customized. To change my track now I want to learn SAP HANA. As a developer earlier i have written sql queries and worked on java web applications.

Please help me with below questions

1)Please suggest me which area of HANA I should focus on?

and what will be my roles and responsibility accordingly?

2) After 4 years of overall experience will I be treated as a fresher while applying for HANA consultant jobs? is it a good move or i should learn something else?

3) Should i complete HANA application consultant certification and then look for jobs?

4) Do SAP BW people have a edge when it comes to learning HANA modelling? is HANA modelling better only for SAP BW professional's career enhancement?

thanks in advance.

There are several things you can do

There is the HANA Academy YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/saphanaacademy

On training.sap.com there are Learning Journeys - check the technology platform, or S/4HANA. On 1 it depends on what you want to do; S/4HANA is a "hot topic" and could be functional or technical

On #2 it depends on the market in your area

On #3 the HANA Online Certification Learning Room is a good way to get started, and the SAP Instructor Mark Green is very good

On 4 - I think it helps, but not mandatory

Good luck
