Hello Supriya,

You can a new create G/L accounts by using a G/L account master records as a reference. You can copy the G/L account master records from this reference company code and edit the data in your target company code before creating the master records.

When editing the copied G/L account master records, you can easily change the account numbers and names. To make additional changes to the G/L account master records, you can use the functions available for collective and individual processing.

You can limit the number of accounts to be copied by entering a number range.

The G/L account master records copied are displayed in a table. You can change the account number and name and can save the changes in the table without saving the G/L accounts.

The G/L accounts are only saved when you explicitly save them.

You can create G/L accounts. You can check to see if the table contains accounts without a name or with identical account numbers. You can use the account assignment of the accounts copied.

Activities

You can find the function for creating G/L accounts with reference in Financial Accounting Customizing under General Ledger Accounting->G/L Accounts -> Master Data->G/L Account Creation->Create G/L Accounts with Reference.

Hope this solves your query. Pleasae assign points and close the thread.

Hi,

- use this in FS00

- when you want to create a GL account you have 2 ways,

create is independently (maintain all mandatory fields manually) or

copy an existing GL account in same or a different ccode (new account created on basis of reference GL account specified. you can change if required or save it). this is referred to as Copy GL account with reference.

Rgds.
