Hello everybody,
To get the redo log backup (save) and the second backup (copy) on two different physical tapes, I've planned "-cds" run on Mon/Wed/Fri and "-cps" run on Tue/Thu. Unfortunately not all saved and copied redo logs were deleted after the next "-cds" run.
In the "arch<sid>.log" I can see that the logs (169144 - 169592) were saved (aewggriv cds) and one day later copied (aewglotu cps) but with the next "-cds" run not deleted.
I guess that kind of behavior came from the point, that the logs (169144 - 169592) are saved during a "-cds" run, after that the copy_save "-cps" run just copies that redo logs and with the next -"cds" run the option "delete" will not be used.
Question: is that a normal behavior? And if yes, how can I handle that?
The problem is, that over the last three days over 500 redo logs are collected, they never going to be deleted, or I do it manually.
For other systems I'm using always -cds and backup to disk, but for that system, BW, the backup is going directly to tape (performance).
Thanks for any hint!
Best regards,
Tobias
To delete just run brarchive with the -dc (delete_copied) flag.
For my problem, I run now a mix of -s, -cs and -dc archive runs.
