Hi Guru,

We have defined UOM conversion within a query using UOM0MATE (the standard UOM conversion functionality in BW 7).

It works fine as long as we have all units maintained in UOM0MATE; But if the conversion is not found in this DSO (valid scenario as UOM Conv is not maintained in ECC for that particular material) then the unit conversion fails and displays the result in the original unit.

But business doesn't want to see mixed UOM's in the report instead they want to see Zero value in that case. Any suggestions on how we can achieve this?

Thanks in Advance

Hi

I am not sure if this could be changed as it is a standard behaviour. But you could try a trick to make it work as you expect.

In the query, add the UOM info-object and restrict it to the UOM variable. So the result would be restricted only to the UOM you need. The materials which doesn't have the particular UOM will be excluded from the result.

Hope this works. Try and comment the result.

Hi

In this case we are going to miss the data where ever we have the conversion factor.

Hi

No, you wouldn't miss anything, I believe. See the below scenario

Lets say you have 10 materials in KG and you are converting them to ZUN using the UOM variable.

If one of them doesn't have conversion factor, the result will be displayed as 9 materials in ZUN and 1 material in KG. This is your current scenario.

Since you don't want to see KG, use the UOM in global filter. Now your report will be restricted to ZUN and only 9 materials will be displayed in the result and one in KG will be ignored because of the filter.

Hope this is clear.
