Webi Sporadic Issue when Merging on Material and Material Key

I have made a simple Webi Document with two Queries on top of BW : one for Stock and the second for Billing.

Both are merged on the Characteristics [Company code] and [Material] and their Attributes [Company code - Key] and [Material - Key]. We want to display these merged objects + one key figure from each Data Provider : [Stock Value] and [Billed Value].

One precision about this : we have some Materials having different [Material - Keys] with the same description in [Material].

When we run the Webi document (whether on line in Design Mode or scheduled), it so happens that the column [Stock Value] is empty. I have copied the tab several times to make many trials :

- If I delete the column [Material - Key], all the figures (Stock and Billing) appear, but I get some #MULTIVALUE in the column [Stock Value]. I can get rid of these #MULTIVALUE by replacing [Stock Value] by Sum([Stock Value]). But the final user would like to see all the [Material - Keys] even though there are namesakes.

- If I replace the column [Material - Key] by [Stock].[Material].[Material - Key], all the figures (Stock and Billing) appear, but I get some #MULTIVALUE in the column [Stock Value]. I can get rid of these #MULTIVALUE by replacing [Stock Value] by Sum([Stock Value]). But I also get some #MULTIVALUE in the column of [Material - Key], which I can get rid of with a Min() or Max() function. But ...

- If I replace the column [Material - Key] by [Billing].[Material].[Material - Key], I get a similar result.

- If I replace the column [Material - Key] by a variable having Dimension as a Qualification, and which contains the value of [Material - Key], the column [Stock Value] remains empty.

- If I replace the column [Material - Key] by a variable having Detail as a Qualification and [Material] as associated Dimension, and which also contains the value of [Material - Key], the column [Stock Value] remains empty , as well.

I say again : the issue of empty column does not occur all the time, but often enough to make the final user furious.

I also tried the function ForceMerge([Stock Value]), but nothing changes.

Have you an idea ?

Thanks in advance !

Paul

Hello Amit!

Sorry for this late response, but I was not notified you had posted a question.

Finally, we have opted for the solution that consists of replacing the column [Material - Key] by [Stock].[Material].[Material - Key] and

replacing [Stock Value] by Sum([Stock Value]) (see screen-shot-1.png screen-shot-2.png attached).

In another Webi report, which contains a crosstab with a Right Footer, I even had to sophisticate some formulae by adding a "ForEach" context.
For example:

=Sum([V_Consumption Weight Cu]

ForAll ([Stock Evolution].[Cal. year / month])

ForEach([Material];[Stock Evolution].[Material].[Material - Key];[Stock Evolution].[Material].[Material - Key (Not Compounded)]))

(maybe some dimension are superfluous in the "ForEach" clause, but it works now)

See screen-shot-3.png attached).

Best regards,

Paul.
