MIGO - storage unit type (SUT) change not reflected in Transfer Order

Hi,

quantity, unit of measure and SUT are maintained in the material master on Warehouse management 2 view.

When I do a GR into the warehouse using MIGO for this material this information is displayed on item level on the WM tab.

If I change the SUT in MIGO this is not reflected during transfer order creation. It still takes the value from the material master.

How can I activate these fields?

In customizing storage unit management is activated for the warehouse and the storage type where I am testing.

Cheers

Mathias

This is customizing in OMLR. Select "1" in the Window for entry of additional data and the information is taken over in the TR.

Hi Mathias,

Setup the storage unit type in SPRO -> Logistics Execution - > Warehouse Management - > Master Data - > Material - > Define Storage Unit Types...

I hope this will helps for you..

Hi,

storage unit type is setup otherwise my question would not make any sense.

I want to know if the fields in MIGO are taken over into the transfer requirement somehow when I change for example the SUT. With this step another bin should be chosen during automatic TO creation.

These are the relevant fields in table LTAP that I hope to get filled during MIGO:

ANZL1 Number of storage units to be placed into storage

ANZL2 Number of storage units to be placed into storage

LMEN1 Quantity per storage unit to be placed into stock in alt.UoM

LMEN2 Quantity per storage unit to be placed into stock in alt.UoM

LETY1 Storage unit type

LETY2 Storage unit type

They always remain empty.

Here the F1-Help text from one of the fields:

"The total quantity to be stored during stock placement frequently needs to be split up among several storage bins. In the material master record, you can specify quantities to be placed on (or into) selected storage unit types. When creating the transfer order, the system generates a proposal for dividing the quantities based on the entries you made in the material master record. If preferable, you can overwrite the system proposal."

For me as the TO is created automatically after saving the MIGO, the system proposal must be overwritten already in the MIGO.

Is the target storage type for the storage search a bulk storage type? Then you will have to check if storage bin type search allows proposed storage unit type in the storage bin types. Also check your bulk storage search for block strucutres.

No, the storage type has putaway strategy next empty bin.

I am not even sure if I have to activate storage unit management. Because I am not interested in creating storage unit numbers.

It should just be possible to change the SUT during MIGO. Not the entry from the material master should be used to find the correct bin in the warehouse but the SUT from MIGO.

SUT check is activated for the storage type. And customizing for storage bin type search is done.

Example:

2 bins, 1 with storage bin type BA and one with BB

2 SUT exist: BAA and BBB

In customizing for the storage bin type search you can activate which SUT are allowed for which storage bin types.

In this example: material with SUT BAA can only be put in bin with storage bin type BA and material with SUT BBB can only be put in bin with storage bin type BB

If for a material SUT BAA is assigned and after saving MIGO the TR and TO are created automatically, the system would put it in the bin with storage bin type BA. But if now the SUT is changed in MIGO to BBB it should be put into the bin with storage type BB. But the fields are empty in the TR and the SUT is still taken from the material.
