Material Number Search Help

Hello all..

Iam working on search helps and need the folowing help.

When a material is searched, we have an option of 'Materials by class'. Once we click on this it navigates to a selection screen. I have a similar requirement. I have to add a tab to the material search and once they click on that it should navigate to the selection screen of a Z program.

Can anyone please help me in finishing up this job? I already added the tab in the materials search help menu but Iam stuck at calling my Z program.

Hi,

You can call the Zprogram by using SUBMIT program. Please check the syntax.

where do I insert this submit command? This is similar to call transaction right..I had that idea but where do I insert it.

Venky, have a look at transaction OMSH to add in a new search into the Material Master

Thanks Mark for the reply. My requirement is not only adding an additional tab but when the user clicks on that tab it should take them to a new selection screen, just like 'Material by class' tab in the Material search. Please let me know if you need more info.

Would like to search materials (KMATs) based on their characteristic values.

Say for eg.

KMATs are assigned to Class ABC

Characteristics within the class are

BRAND with values DELL, HP, SUN,...

ITEM with values PORTABLE, DESKTOP, SERVER,....

How to search material nos. using characteristic values -- DELL DESKTOPs or SUN SERVERs, and so on.

Pl advice.
