Hi,

What is the message you are getting if it's "No applicable data found", then please create a record in the cube using RSINPUT. Key in the characteristic values defined as restriction or selection in the query. The other way of doing this is create a function type "Generate Combinations" on the same aggregation level.

For the query to be input enabled all the characteristics should have a unique value on the record displayed in the query

thanks

Hi,

Fist make sure your key figures are planned enables by going to the query designer and check the planning parameters in on the tab planning for the key figure. Also check the planning tab on the properties of your query itself (but this is defaulted to be plan enabled).

Then, make sure all characteristics in the aggregation level are have a unique value (by adding it in the rows or columns, or by assigning one value to it in the filter. Also for the periods they should have single values. for example a KF with period = 1 to 3 does not have a unique value and thus cannot be planned.

Then run the query in the designer and check if you can key in plan data.

Hi,

So if you execute the query in the query designer everything is OK?

If you make changes to the query in the query designer, you have to ,in the BEX analyzer, reassign the query again in your analysis grid (by deleting your existing dataprovider_1 and creating data_provider_2 and link it to all relevant buttons.

If I'm not mistaken as of SP14 changes in queries are automatically updated in the workbooks.

i can able to change the values in planning sequence in RSPLAN but unable to do it in the query..

what do i need to do to create a input enabled query..?

its very urgent.

Hi,

First, can you key in plan data when you execute the query from the query designer? I still don't have an answer received yet on this.

If not, please give us all the characteristics in your aggregation level, and all describe to us how your query is created (filter, rows and columns)

If yes, start a new analyser sessions and start with a new workbook. (I can come back to this later on).

Hi Subhu,

There are quite a few threads on this forum related to input ready queries not working... did you look through them? Its quite likely they will be helpful.

hi dries,

thanks for reply.

In query designer i m not able to key in my plandata.

i have created one real time infocube which has one characteristic and two key figure.

in rsplan i have created aggregation level based on this cube.

i have selected characteristic and one keyfigure and unit of measure.

in filter i have selected charcteristic and assigned one value.

i did not create any planning funtion for this.

in planning sequence i created added steps for input template i chosen filter and executed which displays the values correctly.

now in query designer i created query based on the aggregation level which is created in rsplan.

in column i have assigned the kf in row assigned characteristic.

in filter it automatically assinged the char in default values. when i execute the query i m getting the two charcteristic values but i m unable to input any values in that.

hope u understood what i have done.

i have seen other forums still i m helpless.

please provide me the solution for this.

Thanks

Subhu,

some questions:

- are you sure nobody is locking your data? (TRC: RSPLSE)

- are you still in the planningmodeler when you execute your query? if yes -> go out the planningmodeler and try the query again

- what are the settings of your key figure on tab 'aggregation' in BW? RSD1 -> infoobject (key figure) -> display -> tab aggregation -> the 'aggregation' and 'exept aggregation' must be on SUM otherwise the infoobject is not plannable

Hope it helps

Joke,

thanks for u r reply.

i have checked rsplse and the key figure properties, its summation only.

and i had closed moduler screen when i executed the query but still its not in enable mode.

another guess... maybe it helps....

- when you open your query and execute it directly to the web, is it planable? (sometimes is't planable in the web but not in analyzer i've noticed)

- on which BI-add-on support pack are you on? (in analyzer on yellow ? -> about)

for your queryproblem: after changing, saving and closing your query, go in RSRT and 'generate' the query, then open de query in the analyzer -> sometimes this helps...

guys,

i m in sp 13 only.

can any one tell me the notes which i can apply for this instead of applying sp14.

Thanks

Okay,

since you cannot key in data when executing it proceeding from the query designer, it means your query is not well defined.

Could you sum up all the characteristics used in the aggregation level and query. You specified the numbers, but could you give more detail.

hi,

actually my cube contains product - char and qty & planqty as kf planqty is created using the reference of qty.

but in rsplan aggregation level i used product as char and qty as kf .i dint not use planqty.

in query i used prodcut as row and qty as column.

i just wanted to test the basic one thats why i tried with one char and qty with simple query.

hope this information will guide you what i have done.

i m thinking may be if i can apply oss notes will solve this problem since i m in sp13.

Thanks

Hi,

If your key figure quantity has data type "quantity field" (defintion info-object) you should add a unit of measure as well.

Don't search on OSS notes or support packs. 100% sure your problem is related to the definition of your queries & info-objects & info-cubes.

hi dries

my key figure has data type quan-quantity field only.

where r u asking me to add unit of mesurement.

Thanks

Hi,

then in the same screen you should also have an info-object assigned in the field "unit / currency".

Make sure you add this info-object your aggregation level and query

Hi,

yes in info-object "unit / currency" field also correct only.

and in aggregation level also i specified qty unit of mesurement and product.

in query i didnt add uom.if i add also there wont be any difference.

thanks

Hi,

In a previous reply you said:

hi,

but in rsplan aggregation level i used product as char and qty as kf .i dint not use planqty.

in query i used prodcut as row and qty as column.

So I conclude you just added the unit of measure ... -> Please add it in the defintion of your query as well. ALL characteristics need to have a unique value in the filter or should be added in the rows or columns.

hi dries

thanks for the answers finally i got the solution after adding the uom in filter and in column(query) i got the output.

even i didnt get the exact format wat i want but still i can be able to enter the values in the query.

Thanks for all for helping me to solve this issue.

martin yes finally the unit of mesurement did the trick.

thanks

Subhu.

Hi,

I've just overflown your problem. You told something about unit of measure.

I've made bad experience related to input ready queries, just because unit of measure has not been fixed right. Make sure you don't make the same failure.
