Hi all
I am trying to use one of the new features in BI 2004s process chains. The feature is the process type: "Decision Between Multiple Alternatives"
Within this process type there is a formula builder, that includes three new functions in the [Process Chain] category:
PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER
PROCESS_PARAMETER
PROCESS_VALUE_EXISTS
Perhaps I am not looking in the right place, but I have so far not been able to find any documentation on how these are used; like simple descriptions, or examples of input parameters, and expected output.
The formula function that I am interested in using is the PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER. However when I attempt to use in the formula builder, I get a "Process type not usable" message and I can not populate the input parameters of the formula.
Has any one had any experience in using this new process type, and have you managed to get it working ?
Many thanks
John

I was able to use the PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER (just out of curosity after seeing this thread), but wasnt able to figure what the formula should I tried couple of formulas, and when I check it it says "Formula is syntactically correct, but incomplete". If you have a formula that makes sense, let me know, will let you know If i was able to use it.
I allowed syntax is
PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER(field name, low or high, number of value).
I couldnt figure what should be the number of value
Coming to the save icon, it was never available in the formula builder.
BTW we are on SP13

Hi Michael
Thanks for reply.
However, I have already read this documentation, but unfortunately it does not give any clear indication on how the functions are to be used.
Additionally, when using any of the new functions like PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER in the formula builder, the save functionality is not available.
All very strange !
Thanks
John
Hi,
unfortunately we do not have more docu available:
Runtime parameters of the direct predecessor
Runtime paratemers of a process for the current chain (of any process within the process chain)
Process of the chain has parameter value (of any process within the process chain)
but I do not know if you tried to use the CONSTANT button in the center of the Fomular Builder? This is the value help.
I hope this helps,
Michael
