Depreciation not posting ..ECC 6.0

Hi Gurus,

I am working in ECC 6.0 . In asset accounting i did all relevant settings for Depreciation. When i run AFAB in test mode it shows green light but when i remove test mode and then run , it does not post depreciation..My deprecation key is using following :-

1. Base method - 0014 ( Ordinary: explicit percentage (after end of life))

2. Decl.-bal. method - 001 ( 0.00x / 0.0000% / 0.0000%)

3. Prd cont - 004 ( 01/01/02/02 )

4. Multi level - Defined own and used. Defined like this :-

Acquisition year 9999

Years 999

Period 12

Base value 01 (acquisition value)

Percentage 6.33 %

Rem. life box not checked

Reduct. 0

5. Used this dep key in asset class. Assigned GLs in AO90.

Do not know what exactly is missing , why depreciation is not posted...dep method is SLM

Can anyone please help...its urgent...

depreciation posting key is AF and number range is 04,when you creating number range you might select the external check box, if you select that deselect it,

in 4.7ee we using external some chages in ecc 6.0

Thanks for all your reply...Dep got posted, I had missed the check box in OABN..

The user says they will not give Useful life as the method of Dep is WDV.

Gurus , pl let me know what Dep key and other keys should i use which will not call for Useful Life in Asset master as mandatory field...How to handle WDV and what are necessary configuration required.

Its urgent...

Please remove the external tick in the document number range for document type AF and try posting the depreciation..

Check the planned depreciation in asset explorer (T code AW01N). Does any deprecation show as planned to be posted in April?

Also, check tables TABA and T093D (use T code SE16). What does the table show as the last period posted for the Company Code(s) your are trying to run deprecation for?

There is a number of reasons why this problem could occur. Try to look for the simplest.

One more suggestion... check the job log in T code SM37. Does it say something like "no data was found matching selection"? Sometimes the log will give a clue to the problem.

Hi gurus,

My client wants to depreciate on WDV, so Useful life ( years) is not required. Can any one tell me how to configure , so that system should not ask for Useful life in AS01.

How can i post AS01 and AFAB without putting useful life in asset master ?

Hi,

In ECC 6.0 (50) you have to config that the depreciation is posted to controlling. In the old releases this was working without customizing. At the moment I'm working on 4.6 and can not give you the menu path to set this up.

This could be caused by a variety of things. If this is period 1 for a new FY did you do a fiscal year change: AJRW?

Also did you configure Account Assignment Objects: ACSET?

Did you specify your intervals and posting rules: OAYR?

Any of these can cause the problem that you are having.

No previous periods should be left out.

What error message is system displaying?

Hi Suresh,

I am running it for the period 01 ( april ). System is not throwing any error. Can i get some more info regarding the Period control or Multi level which is used by dep key ? I think i am missing on these area..
