Hi

GOOD

Definition

Web Dynpro is the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces (UIs). The Web Dynpro model is based on the Model-View-Controller programming model, and has the following features that build on the classic dynpro model:

· Clear separation of business logic and display logic

· Uniform metamodel for all types of user interfaces

· Execution in a browser-based environment

· Extensive platform independence of interfaces

· Support of UI-pattern-based development of user interfaces

---

Today's end users are accustomed to the Internet's intuitive point-and-click technology. Yet in contrast to many professional business applications, Internet browsers often lack input checks, input help, support for multiple languages, and easy-to-use error handling - shortcomings that are simply not acceptable for state-of-the-art Web applications. It's not that the appropriate technologies aren't available. They are. But each individual function demands considerable expertise and an enormous programming overhead.

In response to this challenge, the Web Dynpro as integral part of the SAP Web Application Server provides a design-time environment that is independent of the underlying runtime environment and enables companies to model and design user interfaces cost-effectively and precisely. Web Dynpro is backed by rich usability patterns, exploits information about business data types, and runs on multiple devices, networks, and platforms. Web Dynpro's design-time tools are integrated into the development environment of the SAP Web Application Server. Web Dynpro provides additional services for easy deployment and maintenance, as well as device independence and internationalized support of browser-based interfaces. Caching mechanisms guarantee fast response for highly interactive user interfaces, and a user interface element library containing, among other things, ready-made user interface elements (such as buttons and input fields).
