Issue with copying a structure

Former Member

Hi,

I have a structure in query and realised that changes in a test query is showing up in my original query. I therefore decided to copy and rename the strusture without fear of messing up the original structure.

The problem is that, in the context menu, I do see the COPY but it does not give the option to paste.

Any hints?

Hi Amanda,

The copy and paste is a bit different, meaning that it will not work for the structure in the query. It works like, Copy on the left hand side, and then Paste in the right side, i.e. in your query. One would just drag and drop, right? Anyways...to 'copy' the structure, right click the structure in your query and choose Remove Reference, then Save As and save to a different Technical name. Then you would have 2 different structures.

Hope this helps...

On the test query, right click on the structure and select "Remove Reference". This will create a local copy of the structure in the test query. Future changes of the test query structure will not change the original, shared structure.
