Can we install only J2EE engine from SAP WAS 7.0?
Is it necessary to install database before installing J2EE engine ?
Thanks in advance,
Mrugali
Hi,
The NW 04s technology is based on the SAP WAS 7.0. These are installation options;
Central System
Distributed System
High Availability System
The Central System and Distributed System installations build a traditional SAP landscape. They will install a database and a monolithic Central Instance.
Java-only based installations the only possible installation option is a High Availability System installation and it may not require database at that particular time. Database can be installed later on after the J2EE engine installation.

Havent tried but i think Yes.

Database installation could be done as a part of WAS installation. Some database is necessary for J2EE engine anyways.
