Subcontracting PO (Urgent)

Former Member

Hi all,

We are facing a serious problem with subcontracting PO,

Scenario - A subcontracting PO is placed & the items are issued to the subcontractor. Most of the times the materials in the BOM gets updated after the items are issued (due to design modif's) & this is where the problem begins. At present we are facing big problems in updating the BOM in sub-con PO as it needs to be updated item by item.

- Would like to know is there anyway, i can update the sub-con PO with the new BOM all at once, instead of item by item.

- Also what movement is required to receive back to store, those materials which are no longer required in the new BOM

- Can i issue new materials to the sub-contractor referencing the same sub-con PO?

Would highly appreciate if someone could give the SAP flow for handling this issue ASAP.

Vivek

Dear,

You can move back the Stock by 542 Mvt.

For BOM updation Click on PO Explode BOM.

Thanks for that Biswajit, but when the PO explodes the BOM & finds new items to be issued to the sub-contractor, does it add the new items to picking list automatically & also how can i generate a list of items which are to be returned back using 542 Mvt?

Just got this info from SAP library-

Reading a New BOM

If one of the following questions is answered with yes then a new BOM cannot be read in:

Do purchase orders already exist for non-stock components or components with direct procurement?

Have components already been taken from stock?

Are there transport requirements?

Are there future change records from the confirmation (parallelization)?

Are there goods movements containing errors that have not been processed?

Based from the above, since the components have already been taken from stock & issue to sub-contractor, we wont be able to explode BOM from PO right?
