Hi there, I am trying to install SAP Web Application Server Java 6.4 SP9 including SAP Netweaver Development Studio and SAP Netweaver Development Infrastructure . However i recieve below error during installation (Domain/Username) doesn't exist. I am installing this application in Windows XP Professional. I am not sure if i am logged in as administrator even though i think i have administrative access. How can i verify it? Please advise.

Hi,

1.Check if the user ID through which you have logged n started the installation is under "administrator: user and group.

2.You can check that by right clicking on "<b>My computer</b>".

go to <b>manage</b>.

Then go to <b>Local usesr and groups</b>.

There under <b>users</b> and <b>groups</b>,the iD through which u have logged in should be present.

If it is not there, then that means ,u dont have admin privileges.

confirm about that n restart.

Reward points if helpful..........

Eric, Usha Thanks for the prompt response.

I get a hardstop error and program doesn't install NetWeaver and I think Usha is right. I do not have administrative access on Windows XP professional and that's why it is happening.

However i have tried to install this to Windows XP Home edition with administrative access but get this prompt repeatedly

Installation needs to log you off and restart to continue the installation . I restart Windows XP home edition and again i get the same prompt that "Installation needs to log you off and restart to continue the installation " . Than i get a message that if this keeps on happening their could be an issue in User right . I will post the exact message later in the day. Any clue why this above scenario is happening ?

Thanks in advance.

Is this error stopping you or are you just seeing it in the log? You'll see this error in the log because the first time you install it checks to see if this account exists and if it doesn't it will throw an error and then proceed to create the account.
