Hi,
SAP installation guide requires 120GB of disk space in each environment (like dev, prod) as a prerequisite. I cannot imagine space of this size can be consumed during installation or even in a few months after that. Can anybody please give me a practical estimate of a disk space necessary for the product at initial stage.
Thanks,
Victor
Server Hardware Requirements
Web Application Server: 640 SP9 or higher with IGS version 640 or higher
700 SP8 or higher with IGS version 700 or higher
System Type: Server;
Processor: IA 386 or equivalent (Dual Processor or above);
Processor Speed: 3.4 GHz or above;
RAM: 4 Gig or above for Java Stack
6 Gig or above for Java and ABAP Stack
Hard Disk: 120GB or above *
For any future application data growth, following factors need to be considered
<b>One SOD violation consumes about 1.5 MB of disk space</b>
SOD violations depend upon number of users, roles per user and number of SAP and non SAP systems for which analysis is being carried out.

Thanks Simon, however, I have seen this figures in Installation Guide.
I'm wondering what I need 120G in the very beginning for? Okay, we have 1.5m per a violation, so 120G can store up to 80,000 violations. I do not expect that much crime first year of the installation life. Can I start with less space than that? What is minimal possible space?
Thanks,
Victor
Does it also require its own database? We would be using SQl server. I am also trying to understand exactly how much space it needs. Does it create its own database that requires the 120GB. Does it also require 32 bit operating system or does it work on 64 bit operating system for windows OS.
Thanks!

I found in an SAP document I found on the Net 120Gb is a 3-year estimate, and 40G is a required minimum.
Thanks everyone!
