Unable to Add Data Dev Spaces

Hi,

We have installed content server with Database SAP DB 7.3 Version.

The problem is having free disk space I am unable to add data files (data dev spaces). I have checked the parameter MAXDATADEVSPACES and the current files added is lesser than the value exists.

And also I have checked the parameter MAXDATAPAGES.it shows the value equal to the maximum value for live cache database.

Can anyone suggest what can be done to resolve the issue.

hmm... I'm not sure if I got what you meant by

I thought you are running a content server !?

Anyhow, the steps Mr. Döhr mentioned should help. To be sure, you may also perform a

param_checkall

after you've altered the database parameters in ADMIN mode.

With 7.3 the system devspace needs to be extended when more pages (MAXDATAPAGES) should be adressed, since the converter has to grow.

Well, if this does not work, it would be time for a Support message.

Nevertheless you should definitively upgrade to MaxDB 7.6.02 since such problems are basically gone in newer versions.

The 7.3 DB you're using is terribly old - so make your life easier and get the current version of the software.

You can try the following:

- increase MAXDATADEVSPACES

- increase MAXDATAPAGES

- shutdown your instance

- bring it to admin mode

- add dev space
