Indexing error 'Unknown Hostname

Hi experts,

We are running EP 7.0 SP11, and the TREX seems to be running OK.

I have created a search Index but none of the documents are indexed, in the TREX monitor the document status is 'Preparation failed' and the error is 'Unknown hostname', the return code is 8002.

Anybody has any idea about how can this be solved?

Hi Estela,

You may not have configured the proper host name in the URL gen service..

Navigate to

System admin->system config->KM->CM->Global services,then Show advanced options->URL generator service->Host name.

Under Host name give http://your portal:port/irj/portal or give the URL for the

portal.After that restart the portal server and try to re-index once again.
