How to consume HANA Variables in BEx

Hello experts,

We would like to use HANA Variables to act as dynamic filters to improve our reporting performance.

Our current setup is as follows...

HANA views -> Composite provider -> BEx -> webi reports

We currently have BEx variables that filter the data at the bex layer, but this logic does not appear to be being pushed down to the HANA views, reducing reporting performance. I have seen from the below document that we can map input parameters from HANA to BEx. Does anyone know if this is also possible with variables?

Thanks,

Matt

    Hi Matt,

as far as i understood while using the document (you shared the link), currently it is only possible with input parameters and that too with limitations: only single values from BEx level can be passed down. I also did not find any further update on this topic in SAP portal.
