Change of hostname in R3 system on oracle

Dear support,

We need to change hostname of one of our SAP system and below is the procedure i collected from different forums, i have taken complete backup of system , please let me know any of the step is missing as with my procedure SAP is not comming up.

1. Stop the SAP and Oracle

2. Chnage the Host name

3. Change the Profile parameter ( <drive> \usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile ) name

( Start and instance profile) and change the inside where the old host name.

4. Change the envirinment variable ( SAPLOCALHOST)

5. <b>Go to registry and find the old host name and change with new host name</b> ( exactly not performed for all entries by myself would like to review this step )

6. Change the tnsnames and listener ( <drive> \oahome\netw

rk\admin)

7. Change the TPPARAM file and open all the files in \usr\sap\trans\bin and

change the old hostname with new hostname

Appreciate if anyone can provide exact method.

Best Regards,

AjitR

I would rather not go for this, I think it´s much easier to backup the system and reinstall (as a system copy) than to do all those steps manually. If you already have a backup you can do that quickly.
