hi,

we faced a issue recently in our production system were third party placed 117mb file instead of 2 mb which generaly thy used to place. sap po kept on reading this file and occupied all resource and system shut down.

what measures we can take to avoid such cases in future?

splitting files don't work because file is not binary its text file and we also have message mapping.

I even tried increasing recordset per message but it dint help as it throwed error out of memory during mapping

Sahana,

As this is text file i believe this would be Delimter or Fixedlength file . So why don't you ask your sender third party to restrict a file for a certain no of records say 10k or 1 lac then for more records they can create another file and so on ..so that you can restrict the file and you have the file size limitation.
