Changing database provider at run-time revisited

The downloaded project Unmanaged_RAS2010_CSharp_Parameters from your website is very suspicious. It appears that it is referencing an I.P. address that looks like it traces back to the Congo, Africa. Looking at the code in this file it does not say much for the person who labels a user id in the report with a variable name of btrFileLocation. That makes no sense and unprofessional/sloppy.

I am looking for the concepts for changing the database type dynamically for a crystal report. I don't need to know how to bind the values to the report and run it. If this can be done, there are should be systematic steps to do it

Thanks

The IP address is the server name and it's not somewhere in Africa.

I can replace it with "EnterYourServerNameOrIPAddressOrODBCOrWhatEverYouNeedHere" if that would be more informative for you.

The label was a reused from some other function I used at the time. If it bothers you that much, change it.

Search for Kbase article ReplaceConnection(), that is all it does so it does not confuse the subject...

Lots of examples in the Archived Forums also, try searching first before posting on a subject that has been answered 100's of time.

Thanks Don for the reply,

The hyperlink to the download is no longer in my history. Could you provide it again. Also what is the url for the Archived Forums?

Thanks
