Hi ,

simply factless fact table is one which will not have the actual key values .

As an illustration u an consider to count the order no .n introduce an artificial fact to introducve the no of orders .

the values for these can be created using the code whn the data staging

the recommended method to maintain these facts is to write an ABAP code in the update rules by maintaining a key fig in the data model .

let us know if any queries .....

hi sruthi,

Factless Fact table are fact table, which is not having any measures.

For example - You want to store the attendance information of the student. This table will give you datewise, whether the student has attended the class or not. But there is no measures, because fees paid etc is not daily.

transaction can occur without the measure .

If useful pls assign points

Hi Sruthi,

Factless fact table in BW will resembles to ODS which have all info object of type characteristics . and not a single info object of type Key figures.

In short it would be data model in which there are not qty, amount fields involved.

Where do you use Factless Fact Tables? You use them wherever you need only counts instead of data (data being broadly defined to include functions like MAX, MIN, SUM, AVG, etc. since they are based on data and not counts of rows).
