Hello IDM Experts,

There is a requirement for us in which SAP IDM has to expose its web services to be consumed by SailPoint for the process of data transfer. Can you please help us identify how the Web Services on SAP IDM end can be exposed for it to be consumed by any third party?

Scenario: SAILPOINT needs to act as HR data system for SAP IDM. We need to configure Web Service for the same.

  • Version / Service Pack / Patch Level - SAP IDM 8.0 SP04 / SAILPOINT 7.1
  • Database and SP - Oracle - Oracle 12c R2
  • Operating System - Linux

Checked out a blog from Ivan Petrov . SAP IDM – How to call web service from IDM

Looking forward for some inputs.

Why does it have to be via Web Services? Any time I've been called to do this, I've been able to do it via Flat File, Database or Virtual Directory (so IIQ can pick it up via LDAP connector)

In general, I've found Web Services to require more development and support effort than more traditional services.

Just my thoughts, I understand your customer might have other ideas...

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your response. Yes, I do understand that doing it via Flat File, Database is preferred mode and have gone through your other blogs as well in which the same has been suggested.

For the customer we are working currently, they want to go ahead and check out the feasibility of Web Services.

So, I was just wondering if we have something already present on those lines with the product / the level of customization that may be needed for the same?

Hi Shanky,

I'm not aware of anything at this time, but you might want to check with Product Management or the customer's SAP Account people for an answer.

Thanks Matt. I will check with SAP for the same
