Different ways to lock / protect cells - what is the difference?

hi all

In 'View Format', I saw 2 ways to lock cells:

Double click on 'All' and tick "Protection > Lock"

Right click on the Data / Header and select EPM > Lock Selected Cells.

What is the differences between these two?

The first setting is the selection of WHAT will be applied - "Use"

The second is actual locking!
