I had issues with the SSD on my laptop which was replaced and laptop rebuilt, I have installed Crystal Reports 2016 but when I try to connect BO I am getting an error saying "Internal Error".

My old laptop that hasn't been used for months still connects, my current laptop worked until I had to rebuilt it so I assume I am missing some components of some sort. I have been through what I had installed on my old laptop but can't see anything different. I have also updated it to confirm it isn't a GPO or Windows update issue.

The error doesn't really give me much to go on but since I am getting a response message I can definitely see the server. I can also still use the console via a browser.

Any suggestions?

If you are failing with enterprise account (this should be tested either way) settings it's probably a firewall setting (either equipment you connect through to get to the BI server or something installed on the laptop)

If you are failing with AD/LDAP/SAP only then it could be a different firewall setting or laptop config (for instance AD users should be joined to the domain they are logging in from)

Unfortunately the internal error is very generic to get a better picture possibly a packet scanner after checking on the enterprise user and firewall settings.

Hadn't tried that but have just give it a go (with a fresh download) and still have the same issue.

Thanks for the response Tim, I was expecting an email alert so only just picked this up.

The credentials are definitely correct and it is an enterprise account I am trying to use. I have just temporarily disabled all firewalls and I still get the same error.

The only changes to are on my machine, it had a replacement SSD but my account or the network has remained the same and I can still connect if I load up Crystal on another machine.

Do you know how I can find more details about why it is giving me that internal error
