Conversion with ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE

Suppose you have a tab delimited file. In excel, fill a cell with the following:

500060007780000500

And format the cell as TEXT within Excel. Save as tab delimited.

Using function ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE or

even function KCD_EXCEL_OLE_TO_INT_CONVERT

That value comes back as:

5.0006E+17

instead of the the 18 numbers as text.

Please help.
