Hello all,
I'm working in BW 7.0(/Query designer 2004s) and need to create/find a variable that brings me the total value of the previous 12 periods, beginning with the current period (defined by user entry variable on 0FISCPER).
Ex) "User entry variable" 005.2007. "Previous 12 variable": 005.2006 - 005.2007..
Is a customer exit varibale needed? Could I use a replacement path variable here?

Hi,
I hope you need a varible to enter the FISCPER by user. But you want to see the KF value for the range of [ User entered value-11 to User entered value].
If so, as it was mentioned, you can take only one user entry varible . While you are taking it as part of filter of restriction , Take this varible , after drag and drop the characterstic 0FISCPER , with selection = Value range (not single value ) and with Between as the option.
1) Take the required Kf in to columns area.
2) Double click on it and drag and drop 0FISCPER characterstic into right hand side of the Selection.
3) Now double click on the 0FISCPER , in the same selection
4) Take Show = Value range and then take Between as option
5) In the first input , click on input help sort of button , and then take Show = variables and then select your user entry varaible and tehn click on Ok.
6) In the second input , click on input help sort of button , and then take Show = variables and then select your user entry varaible and tehn click on Ok.
7) and then click on --> button and
😎 now click on offset option that we can dead right of the screen. Here select 2 offsets. One for low value and another for high value. So offsets should be 0,-12.
9) click on ok.

Hi i am currently trying to implement rolling twelve on the object 0fiscper.
created the intervall and set the offsets, however upon saving recieved the following message;
my variable type is steered by a replacement path which takes the last given value of the variable and should count backwards -12 ; ie 2012.01 - 2011.04
R12 = 2011.04 - 2010.05
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello again,
I can add several offset values on the same variables by doing as you proposed, but I can't save it.. Whenever I click OK and o back into the selection, all offsets created on the variable except one are gone..
Why is this? Are you sure it should work to add many offsets (with different values) in the selection on 0FISCPER. I.e:
VAR_001 (-1)
VAR_001 (-2)
VAR_001 (-3)
VAR_001 (-4)
VAR_001 (-5)
VAR_001 (-6)
VAR_001 (-7)
VAR_001 (-8)
VAR_001 (-9)
VAR_001 (-10)
VAR_001 (-11)
VAR_001 (-12)
Since there is no selection for value range on offsets, I guess this would be the way to do it?

do you need the breal down of the rolling months - meaning column for each month. for its just gonna be 05.2006 to 05.2007 in just one column.

Just use a offset of -1 to -12 on 0FISCPER it will work fine.

1) Drag in variable for 'current fiscal year/period' and add the offset -1
2) Drag 'current fiscal year/period' again and add the offset -2, etc. keep dragging one at a time and adding the offset until you have all 12 and each has an offset.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if you try to add the variable more than once without adding the appropriate offset, it will not allow you to drag in the variable more than once.
hi F C,
can try restricted key figure with offset 0fiscper variable and 0fiscper - 12 ?
