MRP Area transport

Hi,

We are using MRP area for running MRP. We need to update the MRP area text to match with our plant code text. But we found that the note 317650 does not recommend the transport of MRP area between systems.

If we need to change the text what could be the consequence of same. What changes we need to do in Production?

Regards,

Tanmay

The note 317650 is regarding the subcontractor MRP area where vendor no in Test system may not match with the vendor no in Production system.

Even it does not say that you should not transport the MRP area text. There is no restriction for the same.

So please go ahead and transport the MRP area text as you have mentioned that MRP area is same as Plant.

There should be any problem in doing this as this is a very regular activity.

    Hi Tanmay,

I am not very sure about what SAP notes are defining about the MRP area transport. But i have done MRP area transport after setting up the plant. If the plant name and MRP area are the same ,changing the text wont affect the existing plant .In our case we made a new request from the table which is assigned to the specific plant/MRP area and done the same.

Pl reward points if find helpful
