number preceded by apostrophe in Bex output.

Hi,

In the BEX query output one of my column is showing apostrophe before the value. This column contain all number value and becuase for some reason I have to kept it as Characteristic ( NUMC type) the BEX output automatically preceded apostrophe (`) before value which smbolize that number is formatted as Text .

Can anyone suggest how to remove this.

Hi,

this is based on MS Excel and not BEx.... so you will have to fix it in Excel setting the cell format to numeric by macro.

ya......I understand .....but I don't want to user workbook .because finally i have to publish this too web and publishing workbook to web is not supported.

Well, you can display the query in web - this is fine because apostrophe is "added" by Excel. If this does not fullfill your requirements, you will have to save the numbers as type NUMC instead of CHAR...

Oh sorry, I did not read carefully.... so maybe it is worth a try to specify "display as key" in characteristic properties.

Hi,

I was searching the SDN as I too had this problem, I ended up viewing the query in RSRT as HTML and exporting from there, this removes the apostrophes.
