Please Explain clearly the difference between paysacle area, group, type & level.
and also what is CAP how it is related to them?
Hi,
It is the PayScale Structure:
1. PayScale type: Describes the Function of the company. (IT, Steel Industry, Manufacturing). Because salary won't be the same who are all working in different sector with same desgination...( Manager IT will get different salary and Manager for Steel Industry will get different salary, eventhough their Job is same).
2. PayScale Area: Geographical location of the company. Again Payscale will differ from one area to other for same category of people based on the cost of living.
3. PayScale Group : Denotes the designation of the employee. Sr,Mng..
PayScale Level : Sub division of PayScale group, denotes the exact position. Sr.Mng level 1, 2 ,3.... Again payscale will differ from one level to other.
These you can default using the feature TARIF for your IT0008.
CAP : Collective Agreement Provision, used to group the employees for the purpose of Payroll.
1 - Industrial Worker / Hourly wage
2. - " / Monthly Wage
3 - Salaried employee
4 - Non Payscale EE
5 - Public Sector.
I hope you understand the concept behind this. If feel helpful, reward it.
Good Luck.

Hai
pay scale area is generally geographical location or it can be anything on which u want to differentiate thetype of pay u wat to make.
eg: pay scale area can be bombay. (two digit code pb)
pay scale type is generally is the type of pay u r going to dish out to the emlployee.(two digit code pt)
pay scale type can be salaried.
for the combination of pay scale area and pay scale type u define your pay scale group and level.
for the combination of pt/pb
you will define various groups like managers, senior managers executives etc
levels are manager level 1 level two etc.
CAP as you know it stands for collective agreemnet provision. like collective bargaining concept in india.
the rates salaries etc which are arrive through negotiations between managment and employees union.
