Regarding Transaction iView

Hi all,

I have created a transaction iView in our portal. I have also maaped my user for the SAP Logon. When I access the iView through portal from outside our local network, I am not able to access it. Am I have to install the SAP Logon to access the R/3 or is there any plugins instead of SAP Logon.

If I can access the R/3 from portal means, I can access the same from anywhere, provided access for the portal.

    Hi Vivek,

I think the problem is with the LAN firewall and host mapping.

I need some more details to clarify your doubts.

    1) Which type of transaction iView?

    a) For Windows

    b) For URL

    c) For Java

    2) Is the host accessing from LAN and Internet are same?

Answers to the above question will put some light on the problem you are facing.

    • Hi Vivek,

The reply i posted previously is applicable to all the iView types.

The only difference is of port number.

      1) Transaction iView for Windows uses generally 3200 portnumber, for the URL and it requires SAP Logon at ur desktop.

      2) I don't have much idea about Java iView, the only this i can say is that it uses java applet to display the transaction and most probably it use port 80 only.
