eSourcing withSRM or eSourcing with ECC?

Former Member

Hi, Just interested in finding out if anybody has implemented eSourcing with SRM or eSourcing with ECC.

1.How do you stop-deactivate contract, bid, auction creation in SRM so you can use eSourcing functionality?

2.Can you implement only eSourcing with ECC? Or do you have to have to have SRM?

cheers

Hi Alex,

Sourcing function is part of SRM, where you create Rfx and Auction.

In ECC sourcing function is not really there. It is only "document management"

and basic support of the proces.

1. via Screenvariants the follow on document creation buttons can be deactivated.

Via role management the transactions in the SRM menue are managed, so

that the trx not wanted are not available for use.

2. when you want to have truely sourcing, then you need to implement SRM

Optional you can use the hosted eSourcing Suite (based on Frictionless) and

combine it with ECC.

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Sandeep and Claudia,

I am investigating a scenario.

IF you have eSourcing, SRM and ECC 6.0. You can in eSourcing Engage vendors in RFx (RFI, RFQ, RFP) and auctions (and a Pre-Contract).

Then either 1. in SRM do the contract-PO-confirmantion GR-invoice

or 2.in ECC do create req (send to esourcing then) create vendor-

contract- create PO -GR -invoice-payment .

I guess I am trying to see how to use all the products in an implementation since the eSourcing tool is so new integration points are key.

Hi alex,

please confirm what you mean with "eSourcing"?

SRM contains several scenarios covering the whole process you describe, with

Bidding, Auction, Contract, Shopping. When there is interest for an whole and

integrated process, go for the SRM driven scenarios available.

When talking eSourcing these days it is the hosted version based on Frictionless.

Great solution, but without standard integration - therefore broken process. This

makes sense, for testing RFX and contracts in an organization as well for less

SAP minded customers.

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Claudia,

eSourcing i mean Frictionless. So as you said "Great solution, but without standard integration - therefore broken process" This is my main question because I havent seen any documentation on the integration scenarios between ECC-SRM and eSourcing.

I have a document showing eSourcing connected to ECC. (no SRM).. that worried me coz i didnt see the ability to do SUS capability... Have you seen eSourcing tool whats this "Pre-Contract" ability?

Hi Alex,

eSourcing would serve as an own application. Purchasers and Suppliers log into

eSourcing and manage the process there. There is no integration / availabilty into

SUS. I doubt that that integration will be available someday.

Currently there is no integration into SRM as well ECC available what people understand of integration from SAP. The integration into ECC is done via flat files. With the new version of eSourcing integration should be possible for follow on document.

Within eSourcing a contract can be created based on the RFx; same process like

it is available in SRM.

Claudia

Hi Claudia,

Send me your email I will send you this doc I am referencing.

Have you implemented eSourcing yet? you talk about "The integration into ECC is done via flat files. With the new version of eSourcing integration should be possible for follow on document."

So for the current version of eSourcing that u worked on there was no integration to SRM?? you only integrated it to ECC via flat files? SO whats the use of e Sourcing if you cant hant interface with SRM for the PO process on to Invoice... It doesnt make sence to do eSourcing...

cheers

Hi Alex,

look into my user profile for email. It is a tricky decision, which set of applications make sense for each customer. Depends on each specific situation.

Integration into R/3 is available and leads to a PO. SRM integration is not available. Master data is done via flat files, main integration path via XI and XML.

The functionality in eSourcing is great and will enhance SRM in the upcoming releases The technical base of eSourcing is Java and from its structure it is like Ariba. The intend / plan (the "when" is in the sky) is to integrate eSourcing into the SAP SRM Suite and replace the bidding engine.

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Alex,

Do you mean your business requirement want to implement SRM sourcing in classic mode? Where external requirement is pushed in SRM and follow-on documents (PO/Contract) are created in backend ECC?

1. Push PR from ECC to SRM

2. SC available in Sourcing Cockpit

3. Create Bid Invitation/Auction with reference to SC

4. Accept Bid / auction

5. Create follow-on documents PO/ Contract in ECC

Is this your business requirement?
