Storage Location Assignment to Warehouse

Hi,

I am working on ECC6.0.

As far as I know , one can't assign two storage locations of same plant to same warehouse number, while storage locations belong to different plants can be assigned to same warehouse number.

But I could maintain two storage locations 0001 and 0002 belongs to Plant 1000 , to same warehouse 010.

Could u pls help me to find out the reason the reason. Thx in advance.

Hello Sandeep,

You can assign only one warehouse number to Plant/Sloc combination. But

You can assign one warehouse number to more than one storage location in the same plant or cross plant.

Example is given below:

Plant 1000 / Sloc 0001 --> WHN 100 --> Possible

<b>Plant 1000 / Sloc 0001 --> WHN 200 --> NOT Possible </b>

Plant 1000 / Sloc 0002 --> WHN 100 --> Possible

Plant 2000 / Sloc 0001 --> WHN 100 --> Possible

But just wondering about the help available at

"Several storage locations can be assigned to a plant. However, only one storage location per plant can be assigned to a warehouse number.

Storage locations assigned to different plants can be managed under the same warehouse number. Here too, only one storage location per plant can be assigned to the warehouse number"

Actually I am new in SAP therefore don't know why there is a difference in given help and functionality available.

Can u pls help me.....

AFAIK, you <u><b>can </b></u>assign two or more storage locations of one plant to the same warehouse.

IMG>Enterprise Structure>Assignment>LE>Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location.
