We used the extended value selector EVS in a custom Web Dynpro application. It was deployed to our portal. Some users are able to see and use the EVS icons and others see no field help icon.
Any thoughts on what would cause this? Are there certain permissions needed for the EVS components?
It's not a desktop issue because I've seen it work and not work on the same machine. There difference is always the user signed on.

It turned out that the icons were not showing for users that did not have a user mapping set, thus were not connecting to the backend ECC system.

Hi Robert,
No permissions r required for EVS components.Just check whether data is available for those users ,who r not getting the icon or not??
If data is not available,it will not show the icon.

Sumit
