Hi!

I have one question regarding the connectivity between Lotus Notes and ERP 2005

- What is the procedure to connect Lotus Notes and ERP 2005

- Do we need in this case RFC-connects or RFC/BAPI?

Thank you very much!

regards!

Axel

Hi!

you may also use web services instead of BAPI. By doing so you can also leverage the new SAP Enterprise services which are not offered as BAPI (see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es ).

If your architecture includes a process integration layer trough SAP PI (formerly XI) you may also consider leveraging XINotes (http://www.xinotes.com ). This also helps you to service-enable existing Lotus applications so that you can easily access them from SAP (e.g. in a composite application via visual composer).

If you have access to SAP Professional Journal (www.sappro.com)

Look for the below Titles

SAP Meets IBM’s Lotus Software — Integration Tools for Business Solutions

Authored by Peter Lindlau, Scott Morris, and Rainer Weber

Lotus Notes access for SAP solutions (NaSs)Using the Notes client as a friendly interface to SAP data and processes

by Bob Balaban.

Yes, you need to maintain a RFC connection from SM59.

And if ur requirement is to send messages out of SAP to Lotus notes then SAPOffice,SAPConnect,SAP Internet Mail Gateway are other components that have a role.

Hi,

There is a middle ware called Lotus Enterpriese Integrator from IBM, you can make use of this to connect to SAP from Lotus Notes.

When we use this middle ware, you can implement both RFC's and BAPI's.

Multiple options exist...........

1) IBM Crossworlds.....thought it uses corba and it might be phased out(inside info).

2) Plug XI in the middle then party a lot.
