Deployment Error?

I've been having trouble with deployment. I usually get a portal error most of the time. The only way I've found to solve this is to log out and start over.

Other times the deployment status bar disappears and I am left with an error bar at the bottom of my browser, after which it becomes useless to continue working on the project.

I have included screenshots of what I am working on. I have been trying to create a chart from 2 sources of data.
