Could Proxy server and XI be in different network?

Hi, all

I‘m doing a project, it's artitecture is as follows: the message in system A is exchanged through XI and R3,

the method is system A <>XI(Java Proxy)&#65292;XI <> R3(RFC).because the system A is not based on the WAS,

we prepare a WAS server specially for the JAVA Proxy.Thus the system A, XI and R3 are in different network&#65292;

among which there is a firewall. But I have a question when layouting the firewall,

is there any considertion I have to pay attentin to when I was puttig the WAS server? For instance,

should it be put in the web segment of system or that of the XI or R3?

what's the influence need to be considered when i setting the centre web segment?(for example, what kind of ports to development)

thanks a lot!

<i>because the system A is not based on the WAS, we prepare a WAS server specially for the JAVA Proxy</i>

U may deploy ur Java proxy on XI WAS. I couldnt understand y u need a separate WAS. The JPR required to run proxy is automatically installed when u install XI

Refer to the network related considerations here
