UWL issue

Hello ,

I configured the UWL on the portal to get emails and workflow items from both R/3 and CRM system but if a portal user has a userId only in the R/3 and not in the CRM Backend he will get an exception statement like 'An exception occured while trying to connect to the provider' ,how should I resolve such an issue?
